Visitors’ Comments About the Park

Please share your thoughts and experiences of the Park.

I had the pleasure and honor of hosting Dennis, Gerry and their family at Walt Disney World in the early 90s. I loved being with every single member of the family – sons, wives and grandchildren – and we had an wonderful five days together. As you can imagine, visiting the memorial was an inspirational and very emotional experience for me. I saw this beautiful memorial park through a veil of tears. My slightly damp prayer stones are piled there in tribute to a wonderful friend.

We loved the park. We’re from Cincinnati, and not familiar with the desert or high mountains. We sure enjoyed seeing both at your park.

We take the “River Walk” as often as possible, starting and ending at the eagle, so we wind up with a picnic or a coffee at the picnic area. Last summer we had several family gatherings at the riverside picnic area. We’ve enjoyed the hiking trails, too.

Dennis was one of our favorite television actors. When we came to Western Colorado on a trip to the Ouray area, we were delighted to find this park and all that information about him. Didn’t realize he had done so much as an environmentalist and humanitarian. What a nice gift this park is to the people of Ouray County!

Awesome! We brought the dogs and our bikes. Used the bikes on the river trail, then came back, left the bikes, took the dogs and explored the hiking trails. Had a great time. We’ll be back! And next year, we might volunteer too. I see you can do that.
