Park Activities
The Dennis Weaver Memorial Park encompasses 100 acres of recreation area along the Uncompahgre River Corridor in Ridgway, Colorado. Miles of hiking and biking trails follow the river and wind up into the mountains. Explore the old stagecoach trail north toward Montrose or south where it parallels the old railroad line by the river. Along the way you will see wildflowers, wildlife, and water fowl. Bring a picnic and enjoy the lush grassy picnic area along the river. If you like to raft, canoe, kayak, swim, or wade, the water is always welcoming. The Park is a great place to relax too – bring a book and a lawn chair or blanket and just enjoy the fresh air. The Park is popular with artists and photographers too. Be sure to bring your camera. From faraway scenic vistas that might need a long lense to macro flower photography – there is always something to see.

Directions to the Park: approximately 1.5 miles north of Ridgway, turn west at RiverSage Drive. Follow the road down and cross the bridge. Park in the lot on the right. R.V. turn-around available. The entrance to the park is marked by a sign “Dennis Weaver Memorial Park,” but you will see the Eagle as you cross the bridge.
