Park Activities

The Dennis Weaver Memorial Park encompasses 60 acres of recreation area along the Uncompahgre River Corridor in  Ridgway, Colorado. Miles of hiking and biking trails follow the river and wind up into the mountains. Explore the old stagecoach trail north toward Montrose or south where it parallels the old railroad line by the river. Along the way you will see wildflowers, wildlife, and water fowl. Bring a picnic and enjoy the lush grassy picnic area  along the river. If you like to raft, canoe, kayak, swim, or wade, the water is always welcoming. The Park is a great place to relax too – bring a book and a lawn chair or blanket and just enjoy the fresh air. The Park is popular with artists and photographers too. Be sure to bring your camera. From faraway scenic vistas that might need a long lense to macro flower photography – there is always something to see.
